One of our newest programs is the Spanish Immersion Outbound program. Similar to the German Immersion Outbound program, 14 to 17 year old US students will go to Spain and immerse in a local high school for about 2 weeks starting around March. In addition, students will visit key tourist attractions in host and neighboring cities. Students will be single placed with volunteer host families that are required to complete the Host Family Application process, which includes being screened and vetted by the receiving organization and NISE. Host Families are responsible for providing three meals per day, the student’s own bed, transportation to and from the school (if needed, carpool can be arranged), and love and guidance. Prior to departure, a student and parent orientation will be held to prepare for the program. In case of any emergencies, NISE staff as well as the receiving agency are readily available to support the program 24/7.
