A reciprocal of the Spanish Outbound program, Spanish students 14 to 17 years old will come to the US during September for about 3 weeks to immerse in a local high school. In addition, students will visit key tourist attractions in host and neighboring cities. Students will be single placed with volunteer host families that are required to complete the Host Family Application process, which includes being screened and vetted by NISE and the receiving organization. Some students will be bilaterally placed with families of American students who previously participated in the Spanish Outbound program during spring. Host Families are responsible for providing three meals per day, the student’s own bed, transportation to and from the school (if needed, carpool can be arranged), and love and guidance. In case of any emergencies, NISE staff as well as the receiving agency are readily available to support the program 24/7.
“I have love participating in the program because it is a fun way to learn English and on the activities you enjoy with your friends and know new places.” –Ana, 2018 Student
